!! Massachusetts may have set off a firebomb !!
this morning when the State Supreme Court ruled that the state's ban on gay marriage is unconsitutional. After washing the poop out of their pants, the religious right is now going to feverishly lobby Congress to support a constitutional amendment that undermines all state laws legalizing gay marriage. Apparently President Bush recently said that such an amendment is "not yet necessary," but we'll see what he says now in light of the Massachusetts decision. If he makes an issue out of this during his campaign for reelection, we have to make him pay for it.
