After narrowly escaping Hurricane Ivan last September, New Orleans is now in a sea of poop thanks to Hurricane Katrina, and the situation is getting worse by the hour. 12,000-15,000 people had piled into the city’s Superdome to take cover from the storm, but now the toilets are overflowing and they must be evacuated. But to where? The levy on Lake Pontchartrain broke so the lake is flowing into the city, looters are stealing Snickers bars, pretty much everything is underwater, and people are dying. President Bush even decided to end his vacation two days early to respond to the tragedy.
Needless to say, these people could use your money. Please donate whatever you can to one or all of the following three relief efforts [links point to online donation forms]: American Red Cross, Operation Blessing, America’s Second Harvest.
