!! A new American hero? !!
One of our most maverick Democratic Senators, Russell Feingold was the one dissenting vote on the USA Patriot Act and he also voted against the War in Iraq back when it wasn't fashionable. More recently, he voted to confirm John Roberts to the Supreme Court, much to the chagrin of his colleagues on the left. Listen to him defend that decision and lay out his plan to get the Democratic party back on the right track in this Salon interview. There are echos of Howard Dean in his fighting words, notably in his unequivocal commitment to healthcare for every American, a topic that many Democrats avoid like a plague that your insurance doesn't cover. It all sounds very Presidential, don't you think?
