!! Strike a pose! !!
Now that I live in the Great White North, I'm trying my best to figure out the political system up here, and the first thing I have realized is that Canadian politicians love to pose on the cover of Fab Magazine, Toronto's local gay weekly.
At left is Jack Layton, head of the New Democratic Party, which is Canada's quasi-Socialist third party. He is sitting with his wife, Olivia Chow, who has been trying to get elected to Parliament on the NDP ticket with no luck so far, but maybe this election will be different. Not only are Mr. Layton and Ms. Chow sharp dressers, but they also keep fit, and in the name of samesex marriage, no less! They have my hypothetical vote.
Though Jack Layton somewhat resembles a fantasy leather daddy, the guy in the head-to-toe leather is Toronto Mayor David Miller. He looks ready to give you more than a couple extra spankings with the paddle, but is he tough enough to reel in all the gang violence that has been happening around the city in the past year?
With the federal elections only weeks away, maybe Prime Minister Paul Martin should consider a photoshoot in drag to distract from the fact that his Liberal party has been plagued by scandal after scandal. After scandal (after scandal).
