Anyone who laments the fact that all the recent comic book movies are more like comic books than movies should rewatch Batman Returns, starring Michael Keaton as Batman, Danny DeVito as The Penguin, and the indominable Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman. It could possibly be the best-acted action movie of all time.

Tomorrow is Ms. Pfeiffer's birthday, so I'm joining many other bloggers in celebrating a truly "fierce" actress. Tyra Banks has nothing on her.
