!! AOL buys up every domain on the Internet !!
I want to tell you about something cool for the average user that may have serious repercussions on the Internet as a whole.
America Online has just introduced "My eAddress," which lets you create an email address at any unclaimed domain you choose. AOL then registers the domain and lets you use it for free, along with 2GB of storage, spam filters etc. So no need to register, pay the yearly fee etc. (via ChipChick)
What this might mean down the line is that there will be no free .com domains available, so buy them now before some mom in Nebraska decides she wants it for her free AOL email address.
