!! OMG, how creative: NBC !!

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the network in 1986, some genius at NBC adapted the Dreamgirls song “We Are a Family” and changed the lyrics to reflect the content of their “family comedy” programming.
And who better to sing it than a select few cast members including Bea Arthur, Nell Carter, Marla Gibbs, Charlotte Rae, and more? This is not to be missed. (via Nervous Breakdown)

Nell Carter was the original Effie in the pre-Broadway workshop of Dreamgirls. She left the project when she was offered Gimme A Break on NBC. So it’s like she went full circle here.
Sorry, just had to let my inner theatrefag out.

  3. What the HELL is Marla Gibbs wearing around her neck?
Did any one of them NOT look embarrassed?
    HUGS…
