!! OMG, how scary: Ancient fish creature !!

Actually, I think a better (but less descriptive) title for this post would have been “OMG, AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!” as that was my reaction when I first saw these photos of the prehistoric fish creature that was unearthed deep in a Russan underground river.

From English Russia:

“Look what they have found in Chelyabinsk city. The story is that there was a construction site with a deep foundation ditch. They have touched some underground river in that place so the water in the ditch didn’t get away so it stayed there full of water. Then some workers a few months later spotted some movement in this water, they threw some pieces of their lunch in the trench which caused a big activity inside. They were puzzled who is there? And caught one thing up then in big panic stepped away cause it tried to bite them so they had to kill it with some equipment and here are the remains of it. It was around 5 feet length. Nobody of them got any idea of what’s that.”

It was around 5 FEET IN LENGTH and IT TRIED TO BITE THEM. I would have pissed myself and died. See after the jump for a few more extra-horrifying photos.

  1. looks like a coconut snail or something hahahaha, see lotsa of like those stuff in my province at ticao island, philippines

  2. Aww, it’s cute. I have a pet trilobite, but he’s 300 million years old and embedded in rock. It would be cool to see a real live one.

  3. oh god, if that’s a vagina then i’m turning gay.
    oh wait…

  4. uh, wtf…sometimes i hate humans for being so stupid…instead of killing it, couldn’t they have just walked 2 feet outta danger or something?

  5. you are all wrong… that is a vagina

  6. It’s Just a trilobite or Tadpole shrimp, and they only get as large as 2 inches, not 5 feet! That little creature is Not uncommon and if you go into just about any Discovery Channel store you can find packages of eggs that you can grow yourself by just adding the dry soil like substance to water… Just like SeaMonkeys…. Which you’ll probably even find some in your water too. Fairy shrimp are usually found in the same places.

  7. exactly the same creatures of the resident evil zero game… love them… in the game they attacked in groups of -let say- hundreds and then they began to nibble at you as a starter… bon appétit!!

  8. After Invert Zoo, things like this don’t gross me out. I’ve seen (and smelled!) much, much worse. 🙂

  9. holy shit it looks like the face hugger off aliens ahhhh.. i blame chernobyl for that muntant thing lol

  10. I think this is some viral marketing for the movie “CLOVERFIELD”. It’s the new film by the guy who did “LOST”. Very mysterious….the monster looks just like this.

  11. kinda looks like the things from the movie alien that latch on to the peoples faces and inpregnant them with the alien before it bursts out of their chests.

  12. “Tri-Lo-Bite”
or a swimming cockroach with a tail!

  13. its a horseshoe crab i think.i used to catch them when i was a kid i dont think they bite.but then again they werent this big

  14. That is AMAZING. It looks like a horseshoe crab or a trilobite.
Something unknown and new to science, maybe?

  15. It appears to be close relative of Horseshoe crab. Horseshow crabs are one of the oldest know animal that still well and alive retaining its exact DNA without going through evolution. Except that the early horseshoe crabs were 5metres in length and more than ten times as heavy. Horseshoe crabs are also known as one of the living fossils.
