Kelly Clarkson is shamelessly imitating Whitney (soon, soon, I promise) in this performance of our national anthem, but I still like her because she looks like a lesbian with that haircut and football jersey.
this isn't like whitney in my opinion, and she doesn't look like a dyke, and she isn't a lesbian, i wish ppl would hate on her, if she dressed up everyone would call her a slut, she dresses down ppl call her a lesbian, so either way she is sol....but it was a football game, so whatever...
How exactly is she imitating Whitney? Her way of singing it was completely different. Her version was faster, she didn't do the same vibrattos or anything that Whitney did. The two performances were completely different. Kelly sang it well, also.
I agree with Danny. She is frigging amazing. Dyke in a jersey? No, that would be Roseanne Barr and her horrible rendition of the song. Kelly is beautiful and so is her voice.
I don't see how this is imitating Whitney at all. Sure, she doesn't trill every single note (re: Mariah), but she doesn't mimic Whitney's version either. Whitney's was killer--the best, though I admit finding out she lip-synced almost completely spoiled it for me. At least Clarkson's version is the most subtle, melisma-free version of this terribly overwrought song.
