  1. Ya it looked severe and probably was but you don’t if this guy was high on something. If this guy only laid on the ground and put his hands behind his back like I’m sure he was told to he would not have been hit. He did get hit hard though. Ouch!

  2. As a resident of NYC for the last 14 years, I can assure you that the shocking thing about this video and the last one is that they AREN’T shocking to anyone who has ever interacted with (a large percentage of) the NYPD. Ever since “America’s Mayor” gave the NYPD carte blanche to do what they please without any external oversight, our “Courteous, Professional, and Respectful” police have acted in an overzealous manner, and are rarely punished. (The review board hotline is a joke, as anyone who has tried in vain to file a complaint against the NYPD can tell you). These two incidents were caught on camera, and embarrassed the dept. enough that it had to take action. How many more do you think there are that DON’T get caught?
As for the word “civilian,” any person, whether he is a “suspect” or not, is a “civilian” unless he is in the military. “Criminal” would be absolutely inappropriate, since, in the USA, people are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Being arrested by a policeman does not automatically confer “criminal” status on someone. There is nothing inappropriate about the use of the word “civilian,” especially since the NYPD uses it themselves to describe non-cops (which is of course, wrong- police in this country are, Constitutionally, civilians- they are not a militia. But many insiders have noted that the NYPD has become increasingly “militarized” in attitude in the last several years).
BTW, the uber-right wing NY Post posted an editorial after the Critical Mass incident bitching about the cop being reprimanded and talking about how cyclists are basically terrorists. Can’t wait to see what they have to say about this one.

  3. No look at the video again.. he is not cuffed. they are trying to cuff him. and i was merely pointing out that it was weird for him to use the word “civilian” to describe this person. rather than the standard word suspect or criminal. Again.. he is not cuffed, that is what they are trying to do. If he was cuffed, I would totally be with you on this video.

  4. There are a MULTITUDE of blogs with pics of “cute shirtless celebs” on the net. (I go to a lot of them often! lol) But this is my fav blog, so PLEASE don’t stop posting whatever you think is OMG… Thank you. 🙂

  5. come on RICK, are you blind or just fuqn stupid?? no one actually knows looking at this footage whether he is a civilian OR a criminal…dont assume that everyone a cop chase is guilty lol
it is obvious that the dude is on the ground, cuffed, etc but this cop is constantly trying to break his legs?
    WTF!?

  6. maaaaaaaaaaaaan fuck the police.

  7. Huh? this guy was obviously resisting… The cop did overreact but its not like this guy is innocent. Also, Why accuse the NYPD as a whole of brutality… its one officer and he was punished severely (more so than I would of). I honestly don’t understand your attitude towards this. The language you use is very propaganda like, calling him a “civilian” rather than a suspect or criminal. Ultimately the guy was resisting arrest, don’t resist.. period. Anyways.. can’t you just post pics of cute shirtless celebs and not try to be such a hippy? (im a huge fan of this blog btw)
