PE classes today are a joke. He has it right.
I would hope that maybe he were to become spokesperson for The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
I've often made fun of Richard Simmons for his campiness, his voice, his looks and, as Tyler did, his hair. But I have to say I was quite moved by his testimony, perhaps because my own childhood included being overweight (though I weighed far less than he did!) and not having much confidence in my body and, ulitimately, myself. It is not a coincidence that my coming out followed after I began to run and loose weight.
I think Simmons is on to something when he points out that while not every kid can be a jock, all could enjoy and benefit from being more fit. I respect his passion for his cause, and admire his committment to it.
