Natasha Khan (a.k.a. Bat For Lashes) first betrayed her love for apocalyptic sci-fi fantasy in her music video for “What’s A Girl To Do”, which referenced both E.T. and Donnie Darko. If “Glass”, the slow-building opening track on her sophomore album Two Suns, is an indication, Khan is now in dream catcher mode, draped in crystal armour, wandering wistfully through an emerald cityscape. With its tribal drums, “Song of Solomon” lyrics and soaring vocals, Bat For Lashes is moving into full-on Kate Bush territory. Could chain mail and interpretive dance be far behind?
