Jeremy Shaw of Circlesquare makes music that has a lot in common with late ’80s industrial pop, but like every other gay hovering around age 30, the Berlin-based Vancouverite really just wants to lay back, light a scented candle and channel that halcyon era of Janet Jackson music video choreography.
To wit: “Dancers”, the video for the lead single off Circlesquare’s new album Songs About Dancing and Drugs, in which Shaw is joined by two contestants from So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Visual art aficionados will noticed the concept is based on a series of Robert Longo drawings called “Men In Cities”. Watch “Dancers” above and cop the song below.
