!! OMG, the smoke! The lasers! Fever Ray! !!

Last Friday we attended the stage show of Swedish pop musician Karin Dreijer Andersson’s alter ego Fever Ray and are happy to report the sensory spectacle lived up to the hype. Shrouded in smoke and surrounded by multi-colored lasers, Andersson emerged in a giant yeti-like costume as her four-piece band jammed on various percussive instruments, including giant bongos. They performed every song on the Fever Ray’s album plus two cover songs. Omgblog reader Parker summed it up best: “she is a shamanic goddess power being from another planet.”
Photos from the Toronto show at Kool Haus last Friday after the jump. Fever Ray performs at The Glass House in Pomona tonight and the Henry Fonda Theater in Los Angeles tomorrow.

  1. I went to the first show in New York at Webster Hall and it was the most amazing show I have ever been to in my life – no exaggeration. I was just a little bit sad that they didn’t turn on the lights right away after the end so the audience thought they had a chance of an encore. So we waited for like 10 minutes but it never came and that was a bit disappointing. But whatever. The Stranger than Kindness cover was almost better than the original and that’s saying A LOT. (Don’t kill me).
