!! OMG, It Sucks: Sex and the City 2 !!

carrie2.jpg

The verdict is in: Carrie and the girls are back and they're worse than ever! While the reviews of the movie are pretty much roundly terrible, The New York Observer's Rex Reed tells us all we really need to know about the Sex and the City sequel:

The only thing memorable about Sex and the City 2 is the number two part, which describes it totally, if you get my drift. Everything else in this deadly, brainless exercise in pointless tedium is dedicated to the screeching audacity of delusional self-importance that convinces these people the whole world is waiting desperately to watch two hours and 25 minutes of platform heels, fake orgasms and preposterous clothes...

Dragging its deplorable carcass into infinity, Sex and the City 2 is so bad you can't even watch the trailer. Almost everyone who has ever appeared on the TV series reappears to mutter two or three lines that contribute nothing to the film they're in. The women-too old now to pout, whine and babble about their wet dreams, affluent and successful for reasons that are never clear-are all vain, narcissistic, selfish, superficial and really rather stupid.

Well never you mind! We know that all the criticism in the world won't stop a pyschotic, feather-boa-wrapped horde from descending on the movie tomorrow like a swam of cupcake-and-Cosmo-devouring locusts!

Oh, and I'll be there too, duh.

The movie was great & better than SITC1! It's a movie that all women can relate to...of different races in the US, that is...unlike the sitcom Friends. A definite must see especially if you liked the first one. I would recommend seeing the first movie before seeing this one but it's not detrimental if you dont. I didnt really watch the series...perhaps 10 episodes but have really enjoyed the movies!

I'm amazed that people saw the same movie I saw. I really really liked it. It is very mature and says some really important things about relationships, aging, marriage, motherhood, friendship, cultural clashes. Sorry if it is too intelligent for Rex Reed. Wasn't he the guy in Myra Breckenridge? Yeah, he should talk about movies ever again...NOT. The movie makes some wonderful points while being entertaining. Face it, it is about Carrie's journey and once she is married it is only logical that she turn her focus and insecurities to the marriage. Very clever. All of the characters show growth and depth as they confront the fact that sometimes answered prayers are the most dangerous kind. Very mature and intelligent issues. So, for those who like fashion, it is there. For those who like Samatha and her randy romances, it is there. For those who like the fashions, they are there aplenty. The locales are breathtaking and some of the shots are just breathtaking.
My advice: go and see the movie you want to see. If you want a rehashed adolescent memory of the TV series from fourteen years ago, go watch something blow up.

I like to know who is rating movies these days? All the movies Critics don't like is great. The movies that Critics like is horrible. Please hire new critics. For instance, The Runaways was a great movie once again the Critics don't like it. Two young talented ladies Dakota and Kristin transforming themselves into Joan Jett and Cherrie Curry. By the way who is voting on a lot of these terrible movies coming out.

Silly to argue. Those who have liked it all along will like the movie, those of us who haven't, won't.

@JT "Eko, if you haven't seen the second movie how can you comment?? All you have are the critics words and a trailer to base your views on."

I'm not sure what your issue is here JT. I didn't make any kind of comment or express any kind of view on the movie at all, good or bad. The only thing I said is not to let critics or other people sway you from seeing a movie if you want to see it.

Well, if anyone would know about fake orgasms, it's probably Rex Reed.
