I love Shelley Duvall, and I miss seeing her onscreen. Evidently, she retired and moved home to Texas. When a friend of mine and I were casting Bewitched, before it was ruined by Nora Ephron, we decided that Shelley Duvall would be a perfect Gladys Kravitz. We also cast either Joanna Lumley or Joan Collins as Endora! Sigh. That movie will now never be made. However, we still can appreciate her in Nashville, Brewster McCloud and her brilliant turn as Olive Oyl in Popeye. Her rendition of He Needs Me is forever chiseled on my heart! Happy Birthday, Shelley Duvall!
