Nothing about those movie posters for Death At a Funeral made me want to go see it except for the shirtless James Marsden in the midst of all those clothed people.

I agree. I saw the British version on a plane to Amsterdam two years ago and laughed constantly. This didn't need an American revision. Neither does the upcoming Let Me In. The Original, Let the Right One In is superb!
