!! OMG, photos: Scissor Sisters live in Toronto !!

Every gay tank top in Toronto was in attendance at the Scissor Sisters concert at Sound Academy this past Tuesday. The star of the show was easily frontman Jake Shears’ heaving, perfectly-sculpted bosom, framed by a red leather number and plunging acid-wash denim jumpsuit, which band mate Ana Matronic described as “a hillbilly version of The Warriors”.
In fact, Shears’ torso might’ve glistened a little too much, as the majority of the crowd seemed content to stand, feet firmly planted in place, apparently transfixed. Fortunately The Typical Tuesday Night in Toronto vibe failed to permeate the stage where the New York-based pop group tore through a lively 20-song set of their funked-up pop-rock tunes.
The setlist emphasized the darker pop sensibility and hyper-sexual tone emanating from the band’s recently-released third album Night Work. They played all but one of its tracks, as well as a selection of their earlier radio hits like “Take Your Mama”, “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin'” and “Filthy/Gorgeous”. Save for some of Ana Matronic’s zonked-out stage banter (at one point, out of nowhere, she earnestly urged everyone to get HIV tests, sending the audience into awkward silence), the Sisters’ were on-point, bringing their non-stop arena-sized energy to the mid-sized club.
Our man in the mosh pit James Lourenco was front and center to capture all the exposed man candy. Check out the photos, as well as the Sisters’ remaining tour dates, after the jump.

I was at this concert in the fourth “row” of the mosh pit. They were amazing! Super high energy and tons of fun. I can’t wait for them to come back.
And Phil was there! That guy that danced in the supermarket that you posted about. He even got a shout out from Ana during the show. I said hello to him.
Definitely right about the lame people that didn’t dance, but I danced my booties off as best as I could to make up for it.
Ana’s stage banter rocks my socks though! Yes, at the end she threw in an HIV status holler, but she was absolutely amazing at talking at the crowd.

    jake’s a cutie pie!
