Easy on the ears and even easier on the eyes, Perfume Genius is Seattle-based singer-songwriter Mike Hadreas. Earlier this summer he released Learning, an album of beautifully crafted confessional piano ballads that has earned critical acclaim from all the right music rags. “I spent my whole life hiding from the things that happened to me, to my family and friends,” he has said. “The entirety of all these experiences: abuse, addiction, suicide, all that cool stuff, I couldn’t bear to look at it.”
