!! Nick Knight and Björk pay tribute to Alexander McQueen !!

Photographer Nick Knight has directed a film paying homage to the late fashion designer Lee Alexander McQueen featuring new music by pop singer Björk. Entitled ‘Too Lee, With Love, Nick’, the kaleidoscopic short appeared on Knight’s SHOWstudio.com website yesterday and stars a cast of all-black models wearing McQueen’s most important designs. In an interview with Style.com ahead of the film’s premiere at the British Fashion Awards last night, the director said:

We felt it was important to have the clothes featured one last time on flesh and blood before the museum takes them away… I worked a lot with McQueen, so, yes, it is an emotional experience. But I hope this film will play proper homage to his career, and the absolute genius he was.

Next summer The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will showcase 100 of the iconoclastic designer’s creations spanning his 20-year career with the exhibit “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty”. The show will be on display for the public from May 4 to July 31. McQueen, 40, committed suicide in his London home in February.
