!! OMG, Dior’s (likely) new designer: Marc Jacobs !!

Oh snap! It looks like Marc Jacobs will soon be named John Galliano‘s successor at Dior. The designer’s legal representatives (read: business partner Robert Duffy) are said to be in talks with LVHM this week in Paris to hammer out the deal. Since Galliano’s anti-Semitic scandal in March, LVHM reportedly approached a number of notable names — including Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz, Balenciaga’s Nicolas Ghesquière, Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton, Haider Ackermann and Hedi Slimane — to take over the Dior brand. If Jacobs leaves the Louis Vuitton helm, the most likely replacement for that position is Céline’s Phoebe Philo. Isn’t fashion musical chairs fun?!

  1. Proof that fashion design is just gall and bluff.

  2. He does not deserve to be at Dior. He will ruin it.
His work is boring, not “haute couture” at all. Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy should be put there as rumors suggest more than Alber, Nicolas, or Sarah will all of them are unlikely.
Some people need to know more about fashion to even think Marc would be a decent replacement. He’s too blah!

  3. My vote goes to Hedi Slimane.

  4. i agree, i’m not sure how his style will mesh with the dior aesthetic.

  5. He’s quite good, dunno if he’s a match for Dior, though
