Saw this show in London in the West End and I tell you its fricken awesome, its a very new show having only been running since the begginning of 2011 and its gonna take every last Tony when it lands in NYC in 2012. Its a really good show, the songs are very sweet and its appealing on many levels ie: John Fleeshman...soo hot!
Just Youtube Rain/hold on and you'll get it

i was just in london and saw it.and i i'm a huge fan of the movie.at first, after 20 min, i was sceptical, cause the music didn't knock me of my feet but than it got pretty amazing, due to all the special effects.they did an amzing job with sam being a ghost grabbing things and walking thru walls, etc.and the actors are great singers.acting wise, well i've seen better. so i give it a 7/10.

WHY?? OH GOD WHY??
This is why musical theater has a bad reputation.
Although I agree the staging looks great...

The music is written by Dave Stewart of The Eurythmics. Perhaps it won't be so bad...for a musical.

Hmmmm, seems to me you know nothing about this show or you would not be calling it "bad theater". The special effects are phenomenal in this production, everything down to the penny rolling up the wall. The music was written by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics and Grammy winning writer Glenn Ballard. Furthermore, Caissie Levy is BRILLIANT as Molly. Anyone interested in listening can "Like" the Ghost the Musical Facebook page and listen for free. This soundtrack set a record on Facebook for the number of plays it got, and shot to the top of the Billboard charts on its first day. So Phillip, check yourself before spouting off about topics in which you are absolutely clueless.

Surely there are better ideas for musicals than popular movies, which are intended for the screen, not the stage. And they're remaking Footloose and Dirty Dancing? Why? There are enough books and plays that might work as musical theatre, otherwise, let's pull out the old stuff, renovate the book (although the reboot of Flower Drum Song was terrible) and we can have a new musical!
