Well, folks, it looks like Cher won’t be taking a front row seat at the Dancing With the Stars season finale. Her son Chaz Bono — the first ever transgender man to compete on the show — was eliminated last night. “I came on this show because I wanted to show America a different kind of man,” Chaz said in leaving. “If there was somebody like me on TV when I was growing up, my whole life would have been different. And so I dedicated everything I did to all the people out there like me and especially to kids and teens who are struggling. You can have a wonderful, great life and be successful and happy.”
Chaz is certainly in the spotlight by happenstance of birth, but he has been a fantastic, genuine, down-to-earth role model.
What a wonderful exit he made. Very classy and very inspirational. He wasn’t the worst dancer on the show though. I put all my votes to Chaz in hopes of him at least making it to the finals. He made a great effort.
Regardless of his gender/sexual preferences, Chaz was an awful dancer and he should have gone home weeks ago. I agree with Maksim, I think Hope Solo is judged differently than some of the other contestants, namely Chaz.
