!! OMG, this’ll blow your mind: ‘Pina’ !!

How amazing does this look?! Better still, it’s in 3D (at least in some places). Wim Wenders staged the film as an homage to choreographer Pina Bausch, who died in 2009. Wim set Pina’s works around Wuppertal, Germany, where the dance company is based. Restaging the pieces, Wim poses the question, “Is it dance, is it theater, or is it life?”

  1. I’ll give it a try if the reviews are good. I was disappointed with his last film about the caves in France. It had 30 minutes of incredible film stretched to 90 minutes. Hopefully this will be better.

  2. I saw this film last summer in Paris. It was one of the most transformative cinematic experience I have ever had. The audience sat transfixed the entire time. It is an extremely powerful time in the theatre. Go.

  3. I think I’m too dumb to appreciate dance. I did find this nice to watch, but probably because it was 1.5 minutes of the best bits along with a catchy tune, instead of 1.5 hours of tedium.
I shall now await criticism for my douche-bagginess.
