  1. Oh wow, Best Actress is super difficult to choose.

  2. Marshall: No, no, no. Those critiques were not meant for Hugo; they are examples of my typical critiques of other films. I honestly thought Hugo was pretty perfect.
Now, Money Ball? Midnight in Paris? Jonah Hill? Really?!?! I don’t think so! I live in Los Angeles and like many Angelenos, the Oscars are a big deal because we are so enmeshed with the movie/entertainment industry. But this year’s lineup looks pretty disappointing and dull. Let’s hope the gowns save the day!

  3. Marshall, I think Seth was providing examples of how critical he can be of other movies rather than suggesting that Hugo itself had those specific problems. It was meant to amplify his praise, not negate it.

  4. So you haven’t seen Hugo huh? Best go see it. I saw it in 3d and thought it was awesome. I wouldn’t say it was best film of the year. But then again; I didn’t see too many this past year.

  5. Really Seth? You thought the editing could be tigther, the story all over the place, and the acting flat, but you couldn’t find anything wrong with it? Personally, I loved the Ben Kingsley storyline, but everyone else is not very good. Most overrated movie of the year.

  6. Yes, DEFINITELY SEE HUGO! I’m usually am pretty critical about movies (i.e. editing could have been tighter, the story was all over the place, acting was flat), but I honestly could not find anything wrong with Hugo. Without hesitation or exaggeration, I would say it is pitch perfect and probably the best film I have ever seen.
