!! OMG, it's official: Maggie Smith wants out of 'Downton Abbey' !!
Last week ended on a comical Downton Abbey note (Fred Armisen's Edith still kills me), so it seems only fitting that this week should begin with less-than-happy news for the "Masterpiece" series. The Daily Mail is reporting that Maggie Smith has asked creator Julian Fellowes to write her character out during the third season, which is currently filming through August. So those rumors that a major character will die when the show returns in September turned out to be true, it seems, unless pulls a fast one and ships the countess off on an indefinite Italian vacation. (In which case, can I come?)
