Back when Oprah selected John Steinbeck’s lesser-loved novel, “East of Eden,” to relaunch her book club “classics” series, she probably did so because of all the peen jokes within its pages. Or is that just a special trait of this condensed version starring Gossip Girl‘s Penn Badgley and executive produced by none other than Zachary Quinto. Personally, I would have preferred if he played Badgley’s twin brother instead of Brian Shoaf, but, hey, it ain’t my video.
