!! OMG, watch Austra's Pussy Riot protest video !!
Earlier today, a Russian court found three members of the feminist punk band Pussy Riot guilty of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred for an anti-Putin protest they staged inside Moscow's largest cathedral in February. They have been sentenced to two years in prison. The term includes the time they've already served since their arrest in March.
The five-month case has galvanized musicians and artists in Russia and around the world. Madonna, Bjork and Paul McCartney have spoken out in support of the band's right to free speech and Peaches released a song and music video "Free Pussy Riot!" Now, electro-pop outfit Austra has followed suit with a grim protest video directed by Claire Edmonson. Watch it above.
