“I can’t think of anything worse than being brought up by two gay dads. Some people might not agree with that. Fine! That’s just my opinion. I’m not speaking on behalf of the gay community. In fact, I don’t feel like I’m part of any ‘community’. The only community I belong to is humanity and we’ve got too many children on the planet, so it’s good not to have more.”

  1. Poor Rupert! His skin has been stretched so tightly that he has lost the ability to think clearly. Not so sure he even belongs to the “humanity community”.

  2. Rupert has become more of a bitter douche bag over the years. He blames coming out for ruining his career and now this? It looks more like his limited acting ability and bitchy attitude ruined his career, and no one probably wants to get within 10 feet of raising a child with him either. Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but he has some issues he needs to work through.

  3. you’re being to kind to use that photo. He’s had so much work done he is not even recognizable.
Oh, and my husband and I raise his natural son together and couldn’t be more proud of what a fine young man he is. Smart, creative and very well adjusted thank you very much mr. everett.

  4. Just in case no one else sees this, a gay dad named Mark wrote the following:
    “Where to begin?
I can think of a few things that are worse than being brought up by two gay dads, Rupert. Would you like some examples? Shall we talk about about how my children came to be in foster care?
My sons lived in a home where they played in animal waste. Their mom tried to take care of animals and children, but didn’t know how to take care of either. So the animals and children didn’t have enough food. I’m pretty sure there was at least one dead animal present one of the times my sons were removed from their home.
Is that worse than being raised by two gay dads?
When my older son was four, a foster parent brought him to the dentist for the first time. His teeth were literally rotting out of his head from neglect. He had to get six crowns, in addition to a whole bunch of fillings. I know how unpleasant getting a crown was at the age of thirty. I can’t imagine what it might have been like at the age of four.
Is that worse than being raised by two gay dads?”

  5. So two loving, committed gay dads who would raise their children right (because let’s face it–same-sex couples have to fight a lot harder to be able to, so they know they want it) should ‘take one for the team’ and forget about that whole family thing.
Maybe Rupert should instead point fingers at the heterosexual couples who don’t seem to know what either birth control or abstinence is.
Then again, why do we care about Rupert Everett’s opinion? What’s he done lately? I’m pretty sure I’ve had enough of these self-loathing gays. Maybe he and Bret Easton Ellis can share some coffee together. Phillip, I hope you also post some of the well-articulated responses from gay dads to Rupert that are cropping up. Because this stuff saps at the shred of hope I have left for us.

  6. Nothing worse than a self hating gay.
He says stupid things on occasion just so he can see his face in the press. It is not there because of any acting work is it?
