!! OMG, she’s ready for her name in lights: Eastleigh woman who was filmed secretly dancing at bus stop wins theatre role !!

Ellie Cole was in her own little world, shaking it on Bishopstoke Road, Eastleigh, listening to her tunes (I’m guessing maybe some Slayer or some GWAR) and shaking it with her hot moves, when she was unknowingly captured on camera.
It may seem like an invasion of privacy to some, but the video was named “Eastleigh’s Got Talent” and upload to Youtube which has had over a million views, and now Ellie has been offered her first role in the theatre!
Ah Men‘s writer and director Lynne Paris spotted the clip and decided to cast Ellie in the musical on “the strength of it.” Says Paris:

“I was staging AH Men in Eastleigh, I noticed Ellie lived in Eastleigh, too. She was dancing at a bus stop, which is exactly the sort of thing I do all the time to everyone’s embarrassment. I tracked her down through Facebook and invited her to the final rehearsal and did some real time coaching with her that paid off. She was great and gelled with the rest of the AH Men cast straight away.
Ms. Cole said: “I find it hard to believe what happened with the video. It’s like ‘wow, why me?’ I’m just a normal everyday person who happens to like dancing at bus stops.
“I have my headphones in every day on the way back from work and I just can’t help myself – I just dance.”

AH Men is billed as a “touching love story which portrays a painful irony” and centres on the wife of a man who transitions to the female gender.
Have you got your tickets yet to see AH Men? Is Ellie the Suzie Boyle of the bus stop world? If she is, do you think she’ll gel with the rest of the cast? Or do you think she’ll turn out to be the diva that we know and cherish Suzie Boyle to be?
