Matt McLaughlin, an attorney in Huntington Beach, California, wants to bring some major Putin vibes mixed with a dash of Uganda to America as he has filed paperwork to bring his proposal, which would sanction the killing of gay and lesbian residents on the basis of their sexuality, before voters in November 2016.

The initiative, named the “Sodomite Suppression Act”, is awaiting further review by the office of the state attorney general, Kamala Harris, who does not appear to have the authority to block it. However, the measure is unlikely to reach voters, as the California supreme court can intervene to block measures from the ballot that violate the state constitution.
The so-called “shoot the gays” proposal would mandate “any person who willingly touches another person of the same gender for purposes of sexual gratification be put to death by bullets to the head, or by any other convenient method”. McLaughlin, a lawyer since 1998, declared in his proposal that it is “better that offenders should die rather than that all of us should be killed by God’s just wrath”.
The initiative would also make it a crime to support gay rights, punishable by a $1m fine, up to 10 years in prison and expulsion from the state. It would be illegal to distribute “sodomistic propaganda” to “any person under the age of majority”. Being a “sodomite” or distributing “sodomistic propaganda” would disqualify a resident from serving in public office or public employment and from enjoying any public benefit.
In February, McLaughlin paid the $200 filing fee to put the initiative on the November 2016 ballot.

Well, FACK! I guess this means I need to butch up my look! Burn all my capri pants and throw away that summer pair of Havianas I just bought! Start making that bulletproof helmet!

  1. So his reasoning is that we will suffer God’s wrath or that we are already suffering God’s wrath. I question whether or not this is valid. Has he deposed God under oath to have proof of God’s actions or intentions as they relate to same sex actions? Where is the proof that “all of us (will be or are being) killed by God’s just wrath” as a result of gay sex. Might not God be killing us because s/he’s upset about plastic pollution in the ocean, or rising greenhouse gas levels, or deforestation, or man’s contribution on the extinction of species. Might God be pissed off about the rising tide of bigotry and man mistreating his fellow man?
Me thinks this needs a little more of a think through my Mr. McLaughable….I mean McLaughlin.

  2. As Shakespeare wrote:
    All: God save your majesty!
Cade: I thank you, good people—there shall be no money; all shall eat and drink on my score, and I will apparel them all in one livery, that they may agree like brothers, and worship me their lord.
Dick: The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers.
    – Henry The Sixth, Part 2 Act 4, scene 2, 71–78
I think Henry was onto something…
