“Just to bring it back, can we take back ‘racist’ and say ‘discriminatory,’ because I think that’s a better word. That’s a better word. And I’m very discriminatory against words like the ones they were saying in those names. I’m not about to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea. It’s just not going to happen. I’m not going to hire you.”

– Raven

First of all, this is comin’ from a betch who’s name is RAVEN! Second, I’m pretty sure Watermelondrea is colour of manic-panic that Raven uses in the morning to look like the lead from a Lifetime remake of IT The Clown, so don’t get it twisted girl!

  1. Yes, but the big helping of “CRAZY” is front and center!

  2. FUNNY……..HER NAME IS “GHETTO”……HER HAIR IS GHETTO…..AND HER GIRL FRIENDS NAME IS REALLY….REALLY GHETTO!….WHAT TOTALL MESS THIS BROAD IS…AND THE FIRING BEGINS IN 1…2….3…

  3. At this point, I’m pretty sure we could replace her with Latrice Royale and no one would notice the physical difference. Which construction firm does her hair and makeup? The facade is flawless, you can’t even see the little girl inside all that bitter old queen.

    Lord Jesus, give me strength.

I probably wouldn't hire him or her either; but, that would likely have little to do with the name, other than to give me pause about the psychological soundness of their parents.

This whole to-do about names and discriminatory practices reminds of the period in Canadian mainstream society (and not that long ago either) which required that the Royal Bank's then face of Consumer Response was a supposedly woman named "Mary". Corporations all over the map had their own variations of "Mary" to one degree or another. you could ask Royal Bank's Mary anything you wanted, excepting why it was necessary for the "real" Mary to change her name to ROBERTSON from BIG CANOE, it apparently not being appropriate for the Royal Bank to acknowledge the lady's then Din'eh heritage. Today, of course, they'd be shouting it from the roof-tops; diversity and equality having become corporate darlings.

On another note, I attended Pickering District High School when it was a 30-room sleeping and forgotten rural farming community's answer to high learning. One of my class-mates was named "Johnny" and his last name was… wait for it… "Outhouse". Another, last name "Kings" styled first-name "Chester" and middle-name "Field" was a couple of years ahead of me, and remembered to me by my brother. Lastly, a fellow at one of the other regional high schools was apparently named "North North West". Can you believe it? There's simply no accounting for the excesses of our parents, which likely explains the hundreds, if not thousands of coined, or made up, African-heritage sounding names given to children of colour in the U.S.A. during the 70's and 80's at the height of Black Power.

  5. But someone hired that mess. Look at her.
    People in glass houses…
