!! OMG, Juicey Cake-Tour: Cakes Da Killa’s ‘Goodie Goodies’ !!

From his ‘The Eulogy’ mixtape which we generously served up for you back in February, Cake’s Da Killa, takes a slice of his Eulogy cake and invites you to drink high tea with him in his video for ‘Goodie Goodies’.
He’s serving lip glossy emoticon FACE, Yinka Parris and Jeruah West as the PAINTER SISTERS, and a white rose bottom bloom as the table centre-piece.

“I’m gonna dip real slick in my dungarees”

Oh, I don’t doubt it Da!

!! OMG, cute enough to eat: Lentil, the cleft-palate puppy !!

20130401-lentil-cleft-palate-french-bulldog-7.jpg
Lentil [Bean] and his sister Edamame [obv] were both born with cleft palates and squidgey snouts, with Edamame rolling over and dying shortly after she was born.
Lentil, however, just like me is on a liquid diet to prepare him for his surgery [his is corrective, mine; enhancement of the love handles, complete with extra nips on the sides].
Follow the jump to see more pictures of Lentil being all like his namesake bean, and you can see an extra-ordinary amount of videos of Mr Bean on his Facebook page, which tracks his progress towards becoming a big-ass bean bag!

!! OMG, what a frills: Jesse Ware’s ‘Imagine It Was Us’ video !!

Jesse Ware played [by all accounts] an amazing show this weekend in Toronto…I wouldn’t know, I was too busy eating out Mary Messhausen’s MESSY OUT-HAUSEN at Hotnuts with Produzentin and Shaun J. Wright.
As I sit here pulling stale Nutella chunks and corn kernels out of my dentures, I’m thinking maybe the gig looked a little something like Jesse’s new video for ‘Imagine It Was Us’, complete with disco ball tea-bagging, hooping earrings and those shark-eye diva bystanders at 1.51, serving platters full of peripheral disco side-eye all night long.

!! OMG, bitchy [Mc] Queen!: Ziggy phones Alexander !!

Earthling+PNG.png
A couple of weeks back we gave you a preview of the ‘David Bowie is…’ exhibition at the V&A, featuring Alexander McQueen’s shiny Union Jack coat from Bowie’s 1997 ‘Earthling’ album cover.
In honor of this, Dazed&Confused dusted off a phone conversation between Bowie and Mcqueen from back in the late 90s whilst Alexander was staying at the country home of friend and muse Isabella Blow.

Bowie
being arguably the most influential musician and McQueen respectively the most important fashion designer of our time, this interview is well worth a readypoo as Alexander discusses his disdain for the theatre -it “bores [him] shitless”-, walking around the streets in his sister’s bra and getting “the best blowjob ever” from a Parisian aristocrat.

“Bowie: Armani says, ‘Fashion is dead’.
McQueen: Oh, so is he… I mean, God…
Bowie: Now you sound like Versace…

McQueen: He’s close to dead…the man was a bloody window dresser. What does he know?
Bowie: Do you think that what he’s really saying is that maybe…

McQueen: He’s lost it…”

What a bitchy [Mc]Queen!

!! OMG, no…thank YOU!: The Knife’s ‘Shaking The Habitual’ !!

knifeScreen Shot 2013-04-03 at 8.38.20 AM.png
We showed you the first couple of tracks released from their upcoming album ‘Full of Fire’ and ‘A Tooth for an Eye’ earlier this year, and since then we’ve been squirming around waiting for the rest of the album to leak or explode or take flight like an INTERWEB AVIAN FLU.
Pitchfork are streaming the whole album over yonder where Pitchfork reside, along with some gify video things, and you can now pre-order the album set for general release on the 9th HERE.
On a third listen, I’ve decided that this album was worth waiting like a quarter of my life for.
‘A Cherry on Top’ sounds like an outtake from The Knife’s 2010 Darwinian electro-opera ‘Tomorrow in a Year’ whilst ‘Without You my Life would be Boring’ is anything but boring with it’s NOSE-FLUTE EXTRAVAGANZA.
They’ve pitch-shifted their signature steel drums for low gong sounds throughout, not least in ‘Raging Lung’ which sounds like an impending science fiction long-bong.
9th track ‘Networking’, utilises acid percussive intonation, with a definite Plastikman-esque platter, whilst the vocal workshopping in ‘Stay Out Here’ present a duet like no other, as Karin and Shannon [Funchess] swap voices mid-line, barfing WOMEN WAR-WHORLS back and forth.
Final track ‘Ready to Lose’ rounds off the 90+ minute album with The Knife’s more traditional undulating 6/8 signature and steel drum BAMALAM-THANK-YOU-MA’AM!
No really, thank you!
