!! OMG, ROMMMazing: Maison Martin Margiela’s Ligne 1 “Artisanal” Collection !!

1040710.jpg
For this season’s Haute Couture Collection, MMM presented all sorts of ceremonial regalia reminiscent of Roman History.
They showcased their -now recognizable- bejeweled facial sacks, this time the mosaic version with tiled breast-plate, and floral/feather version as a cas denim jean combo piece.
It was all Cape-town on the runway with little red latex riding capes, glitterbomb floral-hem peach capes and embroidered satin arm-lette capes.
Simply to accent how damn desirable their latex oxblood boots are MMM teamed up with Swarovski to -you know- create a whole new material called CRYSTALACITE [fusing crystal with white resin], which they formed into riding spurs for chunky heel bracelets.
Click below to see all of the above, as well as reconstituted museum-worthy costume pieces from early last century and the ultimate in haute couture; THE MOSAIC CHOKER !

!! OMG, wipe that google pap smear: PERSIA’s “Google Google Apps Apps” !!

It’s like Divine David just replaced his dial-up modem with some sort of supranet connection and is going AWOL on what he thinks is GeoCities.
Produced by San Fran Trans Clan Black Glitter Collective and directed by the talentfilled fun-dumpster VAINHEIN, “Google Google Apps Apps” speaks all about all those Caucasian princess-types that are “gentrifying their love” anywhere that’s not gleaming white anywhere everywhere all the time on insta-vine.
I get it, I want to be BLASIAN for Christmess but there’s no app for that, the best I can do is breed in a multicultural snuggle puddle and marriage the afterbirth, then re-breed with that and have myself surgically sewn to that one, then maybe I can be Blasian like in a thousand christmases time…maybe.
“Wanna see, durrrrr ?”
[thanks Produzentin [who btw is “that girl you like”!]

!! OMG, MANSles in this dress: Jon Uriarte’s “The Men Under the Influence” !!

__Jon-Uriarte_4JaviGabi.jpg
Jon Uriarte‘s photo series “The Men Under the Influence” looks to address the change in the roles of men in gender binary relationships:

“The photos attempt to capture mens’ sense of lost reference, now that women have taken a step forward and come into their own as equal partners.”

I personally just love seeing a hairy bloke in a dress and I can only imagine the femme-fury of their girlfriends seeing them squidge their man plonkers into their favorite fashion finds !
Don’t be fooled by the full-length floral summer-chic above, click below to see the other boyfs looking not-so-any-season-chic !

!! OMG, ALTER BOY: Juriji Der Klee’s “Music” !!

Sporting a jet black voluminous bowl cut, gold-leaf facial applique and a Siouxsie Sioux-esque padded metallic kimono number Juriji Der Klee’s classically trained countertenor harks over a low-end string ensemble, in a sort of Euro-Kazaky sort of fashion.
And speaking of such fashion, Belgium-based Juriji cites clothing design as the most important vehicle for the narrative of his musical process.
With 80s musical/fashion icons such as Nina Hagen and Klaus Nomi amongst his influences, Juriji explores gender through clothing shapes and peoples intrinsic gender-binary associations:

“Even though in my vision of things, the garment is not sexual. It’s more that I use it in order to sublimate a silhouette that is either feminine or masculine.”
