!! OMG, She WAS somebody: [ft. Octavia St Laurent] House of Wallenberg’s ‘Be Somebody’ !!

octavia_m41p654HAD1qf3qk5o1_500.jpg
Somebody who knew a thing or two about being somebody was trans singer Octavia St Laurent, who you may recognise from the seminal ball-scene documentary ‘Paris Is Burning’.
Octavia died of cancer in 2009, having also spent a large portion of her life battling AIDS.
Her vocals and memory are captured in House of Wallenberg’s self-directed video for ‘Be Somebody’, featuring voguers from the ‘Homes’ of Ninja, Evisu and Milan, and a homeless man who also knows something else about being somebody.

The single is due to drop on March 18th and will include a B-side ‘Be Somebody Part ll’ featuring fellow Sweden-based Buffalo Stander Neneh Cherry [love love love] !
Work me god damn it !

!! OMG, where fashion Gods and Goddesses go when they die: Delfina Delettrez’s ‘Magic Triangle’ !!

Delfina Delettrez’s jewellery has been worn by the great-grandma of style, Iris Apfel, as well as appearing in both French and Japanese Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Interview Magazine.
Not bad, not bad at all !
For her ’13/’14_F/W collection entitled ‘Magic Triangle’, she enlisted London/Munich based photographer Daniel Sannwald to create this pro-motion CGI delight, which I guess was shot in FASHION ELYSIUM, you know, where all the fashion Gods and Goddesses go when they die of fabulousness?!

!! OMG, “teleport us to mars”: David Bowie at the V&A !!

event_media-banner_med.jpg
Coinciding rather aptly [and apparently coincidentally] with David’s new album ‘The Next Day’, London’s Victoria & Albert Museum has curated a Bowie Retrospective Hall-of-Fame Memorabilia exhibition thingy-ma-jig.
The exhibition will showcase costumes, album artwork and set designs from Bowie’s various manifestations throughout his career so far; including the Ziggy Stardust bodysuits designed by Freddie Burretti, Aladdin Sane tour costumes by Kansai Yamamoto as well as Alexander McQueen’s Union Jack coat, worn by Bowie on the album artwork for ‘Earthling’.
Click down below to see shots from the as-of-yet unopened exhibition as well as some photies that show the reasons why the Thin White Duke has a wardrobe worth publicly wading through.
From one shape-shifter to another, Miss Tammie Brown said it right when she warbled
“TELEPORT US TO MARS”!
