!! OMG, shake a fist: ANNIE debuts Putin protest video with track “RUSSIAN KISS” !!

Norwegian pop singer Annie may sometimes present herself like a tiny mouse with a soft delivery, but her new track and video protesting Vladimir Putin‘s anti-gay laws in Russia — are anything but placid!
Annie and producer Richard X took a cue from producer Lil’ Louis‘ classic house track “French Kiss” on this, then rinsed her protest in ACID, and shot a video for it all featuring a big homo kiss-up! A little about the video from Annie’s Official Site:

The Winter Olympics are not just skating styles, waxing techniques and jump lengths. The Winter Olympics are also deep emotions: interpersonal, national, and global. Millions of TV-viewers are witness to these emotions. Usually, they find their expression in embraces and kisses. You can observe this at the finishing area and during the medal ceremony — teammates embracing each other, winners kissing their partners.
This may be difficult when the Olympic Games take place in Sochi in February. As we know, Vladimir Putin has introduced laws prohibiting gays and lesbians to show their love in public in Russia. Furthermore, it is prohibited to talk positively about homosexuality in public. This is the reason why an increasing number of leaders worldwide have decided to boycott this year’s Olympics. In Norway, the political leadership has rejected calls to remain at home. As a great power in winter sports Norway is in a unique position to flex its muscles in a situation like this. This could have been an occasion for Norway to stand up for the fundamental right to express your feelings towards the one you love.
In Norway, many gays and lesbians — and not only gays and lesbians — have reacted against this. One of them is one of Norway’s best-known elite artists: The New York-based artist Bjarne Melgaard (http://stabfrenzy.com/). Therefore, at the beginning of December, together with the Norwegian songwriter and performer Annie (http://anniemelody.com/), he took the initiative to Russian Kiss: a short movie about the right to kiss one’s beloved — regardless of sexual orientation — wherever one likes.

Check out the video below, (which also happens to feature Toronto photographer Petra Collins, the woman behind American Apparel’s controversial “Period Power” t-shirt). RUSSIAN KISS is available for purchase today, and a portion of the iTune proceeds go to gay rights advocacy non-profit AllOut.org!

!! OMG, makes perfect sense: t.a.T.u to perform at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Opening Ceremony !!

t.a.T.u, the pop duo who brought you the lesbionic dance hit “All The Things She Said”, which reached No. 7 in the UK charts, and No. 1 in the US dance charts — are set to perform at the Sochi 2014 Olympics Opening Ceremony!
This seems a bit strange, considering Russia’s stance and laws against homosexuality. Especially considering the fact that t.a.T.u’s lyrics and video for “All The Things She Said,” were suggestive of homosexuality and bisexuality (The chorus even sings “I’m losing my mind. I need her.”).
t.a.T.u posted on their Twitter that they’d be performing at the opening ceremony but later deleted that shit. They’ve said nothing about it since, and State television Channel One, whose producers and directors are staging the ceremony, have also declined to comment. According to the Wall Street Journal though:

Details of the opening ceremony are a closely guarded secret. But two people familiar with the matter say Russia’s team will enter the stadium to the music of t.a.T.u, made up of Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova. The group will perform at the warm-up show that won’t be broadcast internationally, the people said. The Russian team will then file into the stadium to the sound of their 2003 hit “Not Gonna Get Us.”
The rest of the ceremony will focus on Russia’s history from ancient times through Imperial Russia to the Soviet era, according to the people familiar with the plans. Church domes will float above the newly-built stadium, giant magic horses will glow in the sky, and Russian heavy weight boxing champion and the lawmaker Nikolai Valuyev will perform as Uncle Styopa, a benign giant policeman from a Russian children’s book.

Sounds charming! The band has been accused of being “fake lezzie” which I guess is enough of an excuse for Putin to let this one slide? Who the f*ck knows! Hopefully they slip eachother the tongue onstage, and then cut to Putin’s reaction. Check out their lady-loving hit below!

!! OMG, fight for your rights: Madonna shares the stage with Pussy Riot for Amnesty International Human Rights Concert !!

Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, right, and Maria Alyokhina, center, of Pussy Riot appeared Wednesday at Amesty International‘s concert for human rights at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The pair were introduced by key supporter, Madonna, who said she wanted to thank the two women “for making pussy a ‘sayable’ word in my household. Now, my 8-year-olds say it all the time.” Classy! Madonna also talked about the death threats she received during her Russian tour, while Pussy Riot were on trial.

“Eighty-seven of my fans were arrested for gay behavior — whatever that is,” she said.

Nadezhda and Maria chose to speak in Russian with aggression and passion. A translator related the women’s speech.

“Freedom is not a given,” she translated. “It is something we have to fight for every day. It is our duty to speak for those who are still behind bars.”

Others involved in the night included Blondie‘s Deborah Harry who performed, Yoko Ono, who spoke, and Susan Sarandon, who was the evening’s co-host.

!! OMG, the times, they are a changin’: The Disney Channel’s ‘Good Luck Charlie’ Debuts Episode That Features 2 Lesbian Moms !!

Sunday’s episode of The Disney Channel‘s “Good Luck Charlie” emphasized a diverse addition to the neighbourhood. The episode, “Taylor Has Two Moms” features a pair of lesbian moms and according to TheBlaze:

A Disney Channel spokesperson told the publication that the episode was “developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness.”
When Amy told Bob that Taylor’s parents would also be joining them while the girls played, the two began debating Taylor’s mother’s name. Both said they had individually met the woman, but while Amy said her name was Susan, Bob remembered meeting a parent named Cheryl.
Since they weren’t together at the time of the interactions, the two remained at odds.
When the doorbell finally rang and Taylor arrived with her mothers, Charlie’s parents realized that they were both right: Susan and Bob were, indeed, speaking about two separate women.
“Taylor has two moms,” Bob said after answering the door.
“Nothing gets past you, Bob,” Amy said.

Of course, One Million Moms (AKA One Million Muffin Tops), the same group who famously stage a failed boycott against JC Penney after they chose Ellen as their spokesperson — are pissed about this! They’re already making a stink about the couple appearing on the show and say:

“Just because something may be legal or because some are choosing a lifestyle doesn’t make it morally correct. Disney should stick to entertaining instead of pushing an agenda. Disney decided to be politically correct versus providing family-friendly programming.”

We think this is awesome and a total step in the right direction! A great example of acceptance to set for such young viewers! Nice one, Disney! Check out the clip below:
