!! OMG, Harry Potter gets a reboot: Pottermore !!

Don’t get me wrong, I love Harry Potter (as in, I went to one of the book releases dressed as the Golden Snitch)…but Pottermore? I still don’t understand what the “interactive online experience” is supposed to be, even after hearing about it straight from J.K. Rowling‘s mouth. Maybe it’s intentionally mysterious, like magic…

!! OMG, even more soothing: Werner Herzog reads ‘Go the F**k to Sleep’ !!

You’ve heard Samuel L. Jackson’s audio book recording of Adam Mansbach’s “Go the F*ck to Sleep”, now there’s another version that promises to capture the ecstatic truth behind the profanity-laced bedtime tale. Yes, filmmaker and narrator extraordinaire Werner Herzog has also recorded an audio version, which debuted at the New York Public Library’s book launch earlier this week. Who should tackle it next? I vote either Cartman or Barbra Streisand.

!! OMG, her next book: ‘Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me’ !!

She’s done it again. As if her other books weren’t window enough into Cheslea Handler‘s twisted (hilarious) soul, now she’s giving us another peek inside with “Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me.” And this time, she’s letting her friends do some of the writing. The book includes chapters by friends and Chelsea Lately regulars like Josh Wolf, Brad Wollack, and Heather McDonald. From Chelsea: “I wanted to give my family and friends a chance to make some money off all the nonsense I’ve put them through.” Excited to get your hands on a copy May 10? Yeah, me too.

!! OMG, he’s writing a children’s book: Perez Hilton !!

Perez_Hilton_2.jpg
Perez Hilton is about to undo all of Oprah‘s work to get the kiddies reading again. The self-proclaimed ‘Queen of All Media’ announced that he’s writing a children’s book called The Boy With Pink Hair. While my first reaction is to gag, I won’t hate on him too hard, because, after all, he says the book is for “every kid that’s ever had a dream, felt excluded, wanted to belong, and hoped that one day they could do what they loved and make a difference.” Let’s just see if the illustrations include demeaning white scribbles first before giving ol’ Perez too much credit, mmmk?
