!! OMG, finally: The Sound of Arrows release their debut album !!

tsoa_voyage_web_1200x.jpeg
After a few delays, our favorite Swedish pop duo The Sound of Arrows have managed to release their debut album Voyage. It comes out today in North America in digital form but, as far as I can tell, is only getting a physical-major-label-marketing push in the UK/Europe, meaning it could conceivably get re-released in North America in two years time and we’ll have to go through this whole rigmarole all over again when we’re well into our thirties and more interested in cooking at home to the new Feist album than dancing in trendy gay bars to mildly homoerotic Swedish synth pop.
Anyway, Voyage is now streaming in its entirety over at Popjustice.
Also to note: the band have created a gratuitously shirtless music video for their latest single, “Wonders.” Watch it below:

!! OMGaga, a Thanksgiving Special !!

Finally! Something to watch on Thanksgiving besides football or my run-down VHS of Home For The Holidays! On Nov. 24, ABC will air A Very Gaga Thanksgiving, a telecast featuring eight Gaga performances and an interview by Katie Couric (come on, Katie, choose a network already). The show will feature guests Tony Bennett and Art Smith, that burly Southern chef of Oprah fame. In addition to “Marry the Night,” “You and I” and “The Edge of Glory,” Gaga will also be pumpin’ out the holiday spirit with “White Christmas.”

!! OMG, another one, really? The new ‘Housewife’ song !!

I’m not entirely sure how it happened, but somewhere along the way being a Bravo Housewife became just a stepping stone toward a music career. Beverly Hills “Housewife” Lisa Vanderpump is the latest reality richie to release a music single, this time with the aid of Lionel Richie. Take a listen to “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” at the 5:20 mark.

!! OMG, she’s makin’ me high: Syd Tha Kid !!

Odd Future member Syd Tha Kid and Matt Martian‘s promising new R&B project The Internet have released their first music video and it’s for a druggy jam simply entitled “Cocaine.” In doing so the duo have become the latest in a long line of musical acts to not only follow in the great tradition of music videos that literally re-create a song’s lyrics, but also that great tradition of music videos (or anything, really) set at a carnival. That said, getting bug-eyed at a carnival is also a grand old tradition among certain circles (but certainly not mine.)
The Internet’s forthcoming debut album Purple Naked Ladies is due out in December via Odd Future Records. Have a listen to another song, “They Say,” below:
