!! OMG, ‘I’m a Republican’: Nicki Minaj lyrics endorse Mitt Romney !!

Nicki-Minaj-Pink-Friday-Roman-Reloaded-041112.jpg
Lil Wayne‘s new track — called “Mercy” — features a line from guest artist Nicki Minaj that seems to suggest she’s siding with conservatives for the 2012 presidential election: “I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney / You lazy bitches is f*cking up the economy.” Considering the source of this political statement, however, you can’t be too sure Minaj actually means what she says, particularly because of the mixed messages trumpeted by her past tweets: “Even with Obama Care, too much involved. Just give FREE health care to all. @barackobama What can we do?” No response from Obama, so far, but what do you think — is Nicki Minaj actually endorsing Mitt Romney?

!! OMG, please pass the salt: Dan Savage and Brian Brown’s dinner table debate !!

Here it is, at long last, the longtime-in-coming dinner table debate between Brian Brown, President of the National Organization for Marriage, and Dan Savage, writer of the Savage Love column. The two sat down in Dan’s Seattle home on August 15 to discuss their differing views on same-sex marriage rights and the Bible. Very, very worth your time to watch, even if it is an hour long.

!! OMG, negative six inches away: Grindr at the GOP Convention !!

You’re probably gonna see this Funny or Die video spoofing the GOP Convention a lot today, because, yes, it’s funny to imagine just how many closet-case Republicans will be cruising Grindr when the crazies gather in Florida in a few weeks. But, truth be told, I only really laughed until the final moments, courtesy of Michele Bachmann. You will, too. Promise.

!! OMG, watch Austra’s Pussy Riot protest video !!

Earlier today, a Russian court found three members of the feminist punk band Pussy Riot guilty of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred for an anti-Putin protest they staged inside Moscow’s largest cathedral in February. They have been sentenced to two years in prison. The term includes the time they’ve already served since their arrest in March.
The five-month case has galvanized musicians and artists in Russia and around the world. Madonna, Bjork and Paul McCartney have spoken out in support of the band’s right to free speech and Peaches released a song and music video “Free Pussy Riot!” Now, electro-pop outfit Austra has followed suit with a grim protest video directed by Claire Edmonson. Watch it above.
Today is the Global Free Pussy Riot day of protest. Go here to find out if there’s an event in your city.
