!! OMG, LISTEN TO THIS: Blood Orange/Dev Hynes’s unreleased demos for Britney Spears !!

Screen Shot 2014-09-23 at 10.57.03 AM.png
It’s unfortunate that Britney didn’t go for any of these lovely slo-jamz by Blood Orange‘s Dev Hynes!
The ‘Losing You’ writer/producer offered up some options to Brit Brit which she took a pass on (in exchange for some terrible “EDM”, or dubstep productions I’m sure..) but these clips below have got us wondering if Britney would have had an even bigger hit had she taken Sky Ferreira‘s ‘Everything Is Embarrassing’ at first offer.

!! OMG, mpFREE: Flying Lotus gifts a free folder of unreleased b-sides, demos and concepts !!

FlyingLotus_2.jpg
It’s sometimes nice to hear a rawer, unmixed demo or a b-side you wouldn’t normally have access to from an artist. It takes some balls to release an unfinished concept or idea you never got around to finishing!
Well, Flying Lotus tweeted a whole folder of unreleased tracks today. Demos, ideas, loops, and songs which feature artists like Shabazz Palaces, Thundercat, DJ Mehdi, Kanye, and more. You can download it here while supplies last, and check out his tweets and explanation for dropping it after the jump!

!! OMG, log lady jams: David Lynch remixes John Foxx & Jori Hulkonnen’s ‘Evangeline’ !!

If Audrey Horne had grown-up in today’s world, she would still be turning it out with her 50’s-meets-80’s inspired looks. She’d still be able to cast her spell on Cooper by shaking it at some diner to a Lynch-esque tune, though this time, to the sound of Ultravoxx‘s John Foxx and Finnish producer, Jori Hulkonnen.
Recently, filmmaker David Lynch remixed the duo’s main track from their European Splendour EP by adding his signature dark and atmospheric, padded-out touch to it.
Have a listen to the remix below. Even the Log Lady is into it!

BONUS: Check out The Twin Peaks Archive, a huge collection of downloadable b-sides and demos Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti produced during the making of the series that never saw the light of day.
