Fran Drescher got married this week, and not just to anyone, but to the man who invented that thing you can’t live without — that thing you check 25 times a day — THE EMAIL! Now that everybody is on the emails, you now you know who to call if you need to borrow money!
“I was speaking on sages and scientists–in fact, talking about innovation and the fact that we need to more universally look at the models of innovation,” Ayyadurai explained during a recent visit to HuffPost Live. “And Fran heard my talk and we fell in love, and we’ve been together since that talk.”
If you’re unfamiliar with the opening scene from 2005’s Santa’s Slay, GET FAMILIAR. This important piece of American cinema (shot in Alberta, Canada), that opens with a family celebrating Christmas (as portrayed by an all-Jewish cast) is perfect for too many reasons to count. According to the film’s Wikipedia:
Santa was the result of a virgin birth produced by Satan (just as Jesus was the result of a virgin birth produced by God- meaning that Santa is somewhat of an Antichrist). Christmas was “The Day of Slaying” for Santa until, in 1005 AD, an angel defeated Santa in a curling match and sentenced Santa to deliver presents on Christmas for 1000 years. This means that Santa is free to kill again in 2005.
We begin with a hot Kate Spade name-drop, and Fran Drescher in a role she was familiar with at the time — a woman with a gay husband, played by
Mango Chris Kattan. Her real-life ex-husband of 18 years later came out as gay, but don’t worry — Fran is laughing these days! Not only did she beat cancer and write a New York Times Best-Seller, but she’s also dating the CREATOR OF EMAIL. GET IT, HONNAY!
In GET IT HUNTY kinda news, Fran Drescher aka The Nanny, is apparently cougar-cuddling up on a younger guy who just-so-happened to invent that thing you check 20 times a day. Yes, that thing you check while at dinner with your friends, that makes you rudely drift off mid-conversation: Email! Via US Weekly:
The Happily Divorced actress stepped out with her new boyfriend, Shiva Ayyadurai, at the premiere of Bridegroom at the Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Drescher, 59, and Ayyadurai, 49, were “very affectionate,” an insider revealed to Us Weekly. At one point, the former Nanny star grabbed his hand and pulled him in close. “He [gave] her a kiss,” the eyewitness added. “They [were] all smiles and [seemed] very into each other and very much in love.”
Ayyadurai developed a full-scale emulation of a mail system he called “EMAIL” as a high school student in 1978 and copyrighted it in 1982.
Drescher revealed that she loves to cook with the Indian-American scientist and they are currently throwing around ideas for a couple-themed Halloween costume. “I don’t think we’ve decided yet but we know what we’re doing. We’ve got some really good parties to go to and Iron & Wine, which is one of my favorite bands, is playing down at the Orpheum so we’re gonna be doing all that,” the Queens native added. “I can’t do anything but sexy so we gotta work along those lines.”
Drescher was married to her high school sweetheart Peter Marc Jacobson for 21 years until their divorce in 1999. In 2010, the exes confirmed that Jacobson is now an openly gay man, and the two continue to be the best of friends.
It’s kind of crazy to think that if Fran‘s new boo didn’t exist, that we would never have been blessed with Britney‘s “Email My Heart”! Think about how different the world would be today!!
