It’s like something straight out of Lost In Translation!
“Hatsune Miku can be seen questioning whether she needs to change herself when she comes across a LUX ad featuring Scarlett Johansson that inspires her to become the star she is. After singing on stage, she later even gets a call from Scarlett on her phone saying, “Hi Miku. This is Scarlett. Being true to who you are makes all your dreams possible.”
Wonder how many yen she got to lend her voice to that cell phone! Scarlett always knows the right time to call!
If you set out to make a K-Pop star out of a Swedish guy, but ended up dressing him in Japanese clothing as he terribly rapped Japanese and tried to seduce the camera harder than a club-district douchebag after 2 “mollies” — then you’d end up with BORIS! Maybe this shit is a viral video for ZOOLANDER 2, I dunno anymore. I’m hoping it is. I’m filing this one under ART, because it is HIGH art.
OH, and this person in the comments section perfectly sums up how I feel about Boris:
Here’s something we bet you didn’t see coming — Muslim fans of the Japanese lolita fashion trend have begun pairing these sweet-as-candy outfits with their hijabs, creating a unique new style that Japanese lolita fans are falling in love with. Check out the looks after the jump!
Assassination Classroom is the story of ‘a bright yellow, octopus-like alien creature that arrives on Earth after having destroyed most of the moon and announces he will soon do the same to the Earth unless the classroom of students he himself teaches are able to kill him before the allotted date.’
Only in Japan! Check out the trailer below!
We’re giving away TWO uber-sexy t-shirts from artist Dean Sameshima!
A bit about Dean from the Deano, himself:
I am an artist based in Berlin, Germany.
This a shop inspired by my Tumblr page: http://cruiseorbecruised.tumblr.com/ which is a visual diary of my inspirations in visual art, queer histories, gay underground subcultures of the past as well as my heroes in literature, performance, music, film, etc…
I am a huge fan of T-shirts, I wear them ALL THE TIME, even in the winter. They communicate our personal interests, politics, desires, loves and obsessions. When I see someone wearing a shirt from a band I love, I automatically feel a sense of connection with that person. It’s a cool feeling.
I’m inspired by vintage concert shirts (especially bootlegs) as well as Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren‘s Seditionaries shirts from the 70’s and their use of images appropriated from various subcultures. My shirts are like the concert/tour T-shirts for the various films, artists and authors I admire. I will be producing more and more editions and hope you all will enjoy them on the walls of your bedrooms, toilets, hallways, closets…where ever you want to add a bit of subtle (and
