!! OMG, Hell hath frozen over: Bill O’Reilly says we need tighter gun laws !!

Wait, what? That “nuh, nuh, nuh, nuh, nuh,no” finger you see wagging sass above belongs to none other than “traditionalist” Bill O’Reilly! YES! Yesterday he made pigs fly by saying:

“There is too much gun crime in the USA, and high-powered weaponry is too easy to get. That’s the fact. So let’s deal with it. We all have the right to bear arms, but we don’t have the right to buy and maintain mortars. Even if you feel threatened by gangsters or a New World Order. No bazookas, no Sherman tanks, no hand grenades.”

“That’s because the Second Amendment clearly states the government has a right to regulate militias, made up of individuals. They have that right in the name of public safety. Therefore, Congress should debate what kind of weapons should be available for public sale. And the states, the individual states, should decide what kind of carry laws are good for their own people.”

Is it opposites day, cuz we’re trippin! — AND HE’S RIGHT! #GunReformNow

!! OMG, Michigan House passed bill allowing EMTs to refuse treatment to gay people !!

Yeehaw! Just when you thought it was easy to finger-point at Russia and Uganda, this past weekend, Republicans in the Michigan Statehouse USA successfully passed a “license to discriminate” bill that would give anyone the right to refuse service to LGBT people if it “conflicted with their religious beliefs.

The broadly written Religious Freedom Restoration Act would allow, for example, an EMT to refuse emergency treatment to a gay person or a pharmacist to refuse to refill HIV medication, because God decreed gays and lesbians should be put to death.
The measure is similar to one in Arizona that even right-wing governor Jan Brewer thought went too far and vetoed.
As The New Civil Rights Movement points out, the act is so broad it would let a Catholic high school refuse to hire a Muslim janitor, and a DMV clerk deny a new driver’s license to someone who is divorced.

Gross! Lets hope this bill gets knocked down and taken back asap!

!! OMG, time to break out the kilts and the bagpipes! Scotland becomes 17th country to approve same-sex marriage !!

Big-ups and a big congrats to Scotland who became the 17th country to approve same-sex marriage yesterday! Very exciting news.

“Today will be remembered in history as the day that lesbian, gay and bisexual people were finally granted full legal equality in Scotland, and given an equal right to marry the person they love,” said Tom French, Policy Coordinator for the Equality Network, a Scottish LGBT advocacy group.
“This is a profoundly emotional moment for many people who grew up in a country where being gay was still a criminal offense until 1980. Scotland can be proud that we now have one of the most progressive equal marriage bills in the world, and that we’ve sent out a strong message about the kind of country we are,” said French.

Now that I think about it, the kilt was kind of made for the gay wedding!
