!! OMG, quote of the day: J.Lo on being underestimated as a female, and proving people wrong !!

31835_600

“People may now think I’m ‘nice,’ but they still act surprised when I’m smart. It’s a man’s world, and, truly, people in a business setting do not value a woman as much as a man. I feel like I’m constantly having to prove myself. If a man does one thing well, people immediately say he’s a genius. Women have to do something remarkable over and over and over. And, even then, they get questions about their love life.” She shrugged. “People underestimate me. They always have, and maybe that’s for the best. It’s fun to prove them wrong.”

Jennifer Lopez to this W Magazine this month.

!! OMG, quote of the day: Jake Gyllenhaal has a hard time describing how Heath Ledger’s death affected him !!

heath-ledger-jake-gyllenhaal

“Personally, it affected me in ways I can’t necessarily put in words or even would want to talk about publicly but in terms of professionally, I think I was at an age where mortality was not always clear to me. … I think it [gave me] the experience of, ‘This is fleeting.’ And none of the attention or synthesized love that comes from the success of a film really matters at all. What matters is the relationships you make when you make a film, and the people you learn from when you’re preparing for a film. That changed a lot for me.”

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal, to People Magazine recently on how his Brokeback costar, Heath Ledger‘s, death affected him.

!! OMG, quote of the day: Melissa Etheridge almost asked Brad Pitt for his semen !!

Mesissa-Ethridge

“Well actually, [Brad Pitt] was such a good friend of mine, and we did consider it. And yet, I looked and I saw how badly he wanted children and I thought, ‘I don’t want to share this with someone who really, badly wants children because my children don’t need another parent – they have two.’

Of course, my teenagers now are like, ‘I could have had Brad Pitt [as my dad]!’ My son said, ‘I could’ve been amazingly handsome!'”

!! OMG, quote of the day: Gwen Stefani ‘I would be blessed with a gay son’ !!

Gwen-Stefani-Jimmy-Kimmel-Live-February-2016

Gwen Stefani‘s not just a pop icon, ska icon, fashion icon, host of The Voice, or a just REGULAR MOM, — she’s a COOL MOM. She recently spoke about the possibility of one of her boys turning out to be gay someday — to which the singer replied:

“I would be blessed with a gay son, you know that I would feel blessed about that. I just want my boys to be happy and healthy, and I just ask God to guide me every day to be a good mother because it is not an easy job. I’ve been able to travel the world and meet so many different kinds of people. And it doesn’t really matter if you’re gay, straight, whatever. There are good and bad people, and I would be happy. I just want my kids to be happy, and whatever journey God gives them is their journey. I just need to be there to be the most supportive mom that I can be and that’s what I’m gonna be.”

… and further, on responding to criticism for letting her boys paint their nails:

“If somebody says something about me and I don’t know them and they’re not my friend or part of my life, it really doesn’t affect me. Of course everyone’s gonna have their perspective and their opinion, and I know what’s real and what’s honest and true, and that’s really all that matters to me and all that’s important, so it doesn’t really bother me. As long as my boys are protected and happy and I’m spending quality time with them, whether it’s doing sports or doing nails, it really doesn’t matter.”

!! OMG, quote of the day: James Franco talks about his obsession with gay topics within his work !!

24641_600-1

“When I was studying at NYU, I took classes in critical studies, and one of my favorites was on queer cinema. We’ve told the straight, heteronormative stories ad nauseam by now, in our movies, our shows, our commercials – everywhere. I think it’s healthy to make work that disrupts and questions that, and shows alternative narratives. That’s what an artist should do.”

James Franco, on his obsession with gay topics within the art and film he makes while chatting to RollingStone.
