!! OMG, a XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS reboot is coming, and this time Xena and Gabrielle are goin’ FULL-LEZZAH !!

Xena-and-Gabrielle_article_story_large

NBC has ordered a new Xena pilot from writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach, the man responsible for writing the CW’s The 100, and he says that this time around, what everyone always thought about Xena and Gabrielle will be out in the open! During a Q&A session on Tumblr, Grillo-Marxuach confirmed that the two women would be lovers:

i am a very different person with a very different world view than my employer on the 100 – and my work on the 100 was to use my skills to bring that vision to life. xena will be a very different show made for very different reasons. there is no reason to bring back xena if it is not there for the purpose of fully exploring a relationship that could only be shown subtextually in first-run syndication in the 1990s. it will also express my view of the world – which is only further informed by what is happening right now – and is not too difficult to know what that is if you do some digging.

Get it, Xena!

!! OMG, YASSSS: ‘DuckTales’ is coming back to TV from Disney XD !!

Duck_Tales_Art.png
Good Lawd! I used to spend hours plugging away on the Sega Genesis in my basement, eating white cheddar Smart Food and playing DUCKTALES! It taught me to only care about money and diamonds at a very early age! I also had a weird homo crush on Launchpad McQuack now that I come to think of it…
Well it looks as if the beloved cartoon which aired from 1987 to 1990 as part of the “Disney Afternoon” is on its way back to TV!

DuckTales’ has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history,” Marc Buhaj Disney XD’s senior vice president, programming and general manager said in a statement. “It drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults. Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.

Will you be checking out the 2017 DuckTales when it returns to TV?

Sony is set to reboot the 90’s horror classic I Know What You Did Last Summer!
Yes — they will soon be in search of someone to cast as the next Jennifer Love Hewitt or himbo Ryan Phillipe when Oculus co-writer/director Mike Flanagan takes the reigns and adapts the 1973 Lois Duncan book for the second time!
Sources are stating that the remake is a high priority for Sony and is set for a 2016 release! Are you looking forward to a new version? Or should Hollywood come up with some new ideas and are you just absolutely gagging at another remake?

!! OMG, John Carpenter’s ‘Escape From New York’ to be remade, Hunnam, Bernthal, and Stevens reportedely front-runners for Snake Plissken !!

Mtzjlrk.jpg
Since every Brooklyn resident has decided to fill my Facebook feed with posts about how “Brooklyn is OHVER!!!” and that there’s a Starbucks across from their favourite independent coffee shop that their friend opened while gentrifying Brooklyn 10 years ago, and people like Patti Smith are telling artists to stay the hell away from NYC because it’s not the city it once was — what better time to capitalize on the backlash against the city, than to reboot ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK!?
That means that work horse Snake Plisskin is coming back! But WHO could possibly fill the legendary, studly Kurt Russell‘s shoes!?
According to Starlog, Silver Pictures narrowed the candidates down to three studs: Charlie Hunnam (“Sons of Anarchy“), Jon Bernthal (“The Walking Dead“) and Dan Stevens (“The Guest“).
Starlog has also said that the film will be:

“more team-based, as Snake Plissken traverses through a treacherous New York landscape with a rogues gallery of criminals who look to leave the island-turned-prison in exchange for the rescue of the captured U.S. President.”

All I know is they better keep Carpenter‘s original soundtrack! If they end up using Linkin Park, I’m really gonna lose it.
