!! OMG, how un-quiche babes: Mad Men’s January Jones was truly the Ja’mie King of the 90’s !!

Our first thought about the “controversy” around Mad Men‘s January Jones deleting an old TBT modelling photo of herself off Instagram as it was considered ‘racist’ — was “WE’VE SEEN THIS BEFORE.” — only just last year in Chris Lilley‘s Ja’mie: Private School Girl.

!! OMG, grab the Plutonian Nyborg! Robert Rodriguez to bring HEAVY METAL to TV? !!

2008-11-13-heavy_metal.jpg
Grindhouse and From Dusk Till Dawn director Robert Rodriguez was interviewed at SXSW this week, where he was asked about plans to adapt the 1981 dark fantasy, erotic horror cartoon franchise HEAVY METAL. Robert seemed optimistic about the possibility of a reboot, discussing format and a home for its return:

“Well, now that I’ve got a television network, potentially we could go into television…”
“It would be a variation of different types of animation … Classic, some hand drawn, some digital, some mixed media. That was always great about ‘Heavy Metal’ is everybody did a different thing, story dependent.”

We think this is JUST what television needs! Taarna the Taarakian needs to come back to Earth and show all these filthy Hollywood bitches how to properly wear out some big hair, knee-high stripper boots, and a PVC teddy while blaring the Sabbath!
Will you be watching if HEAVY METAL hits TV?

!! OMG, another Universal Monster comes to TV: ‘Wolfman’ to howl for NBC? !!

wolfmanclaw.jpg
It looks as if all the networks are hopping on the horror bandwagon these days. First DRACULA came to TV and now, another famous classic Universal Monster is making his way to television. According to Deadline:

The upcoming series will take its cue from the not-so-bad 2010 WOLFMAN redo starring Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Emily Blunt. Its synopsis however, is without any defining characteristics that would link it to such. Instead, it sounds like the general outline of both THE WOLFMAN 2010 and the original, classic THE WOLF MAN (1941); the site writes, “It centers on Lawrence Talbot, who is afflicted by an ancient curse…” Considering the alterations I hear DRACULA is having fun with and the general longer form storytelling and diversions that televisions allows, it seems hard to expect any direct correlation other than the Talbot name and traditional story. The most significant connection seems to be the carrying over of producer Scott Stuber.

There is not set yet for the series, though it’s tied to NBC. Are you excited to see The Wolfman take TV?
