!! States take minimum wage into their own hands !!
On Election Day, voters in Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, Montana, Nevada and Ohio will have the opportunity to raise their state-mandated minimum wage to between $6.15 and $6.85 per hour, up from the federally mandated minimum wage of $5.15, which hasn't changed since 1997.
It still probably won't be enough for minimum wage earners to live comfortably, especially with a family, but it's progress anyway.
