When Epcot Center opened in 1982, it was supposed to be a celebration of human achievement.
It was a utopian vision of the future, and I just thought it was a ramshackle collection of chateaus, pagodas, and igloos with such international delights as tacos, pizza, and chow mein, all meant to educate us about cultures different from ours. Maybe I should go back.
At one point it used to be about the Future, but now it's just about the money. Come visit EPCOT during the Food & Wine festival where you can pay $6 for a 1 oz glass of wine and $8 for a chicken wing from France.
