At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived the fourth-floor apartment of the building, at 421 Broome Street in SoHo, for an appointment with Mr. Ledger, the police said. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of the bedroom Mr. Ledger was in. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger naked and unconscious on a bed, with sleeping pills — both prescription medication and nonprescription — on a night table. They moved his body to the floor and attempted to revive him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities.
Sadness.
UPDATE: The NY TIMES have corrected the statement that the apartment was owned by an Olsen twin.
A representative of Ms. Olsen said that the apartment did not belong to the actress. “It is not her apartment,” the representative, Annette Wolf, a publicist for Ms. Olsen, said in a phone interview. “She does not own the apartment. She has never owned the apartment. She and her sister have an apartment in New York City but they are not in this building.”
First Brad Renfro, now Heath. Who's next?

so sad.
when i found out today (i found out at work), i actually was so in shock that i had to sit down for a few minutes. He was such a great actor and this was totally unexpected.
it also seems it was just a huge unfortunate accident and that he wasn't really trying to kill himself. he was just so tired filming the new batman movie that he could not sleep at all.

I just got done watching an movie Heath was in and the tune in to cnn and there was Larry King talking about his death. I am so stunned and sad. We have lost an friend and an very good actor. Lets not forget he was also an father too. I have an little update to add. TMZ and others report that Heath had pneumonia. And his rep confirmed it. So the pills reported were most likely for his illness. And Heath had just talked to some reporter that he has suffered sleeping problems after filming cause of the long hours and getting so into the roles he had problems calming down.
