!! OMG, music video round-up: Sade’s ‘Soldier of Love’, Lady Gaga covers Kate Bush plus new vids from Jessica 6, Sia & Lioness !!

We’re back with another round-up of the latest and greatest music videos to hit the worldwide web over the past few weeks. First up is the brand new video for OMG’s official make-out jam of December 2009: Sade’s “Soldier of Love”. The video is pretty much exactly what we were expecting it to be: wild horses shrouded in fog, sultry dancers darting in and out of mysterious mood lighting, a desert landscape and lots and lots of billowing fabric.

Last summer a cover version of the Peter Gabriel/Kate Bush classic song “Don’t Give Up” by Lady Gaga and The Midway State’s Nathan Ferraro leaked and spread across the Internet. However, the official video has been harder to pin down – until now. Thanks to our friends in Russia, you can now enjoy a RuTube-quality version. The Vertigo room-spinning concept from the original video remains but with an added rotoscoping animation treatment à la Richard Linklater’s Waking Life. So what’s the verdict? Does it hold up to the original? (via Torontoist)
Check out more videos after the jump.

A year ago we blogged about how much we loved the synthy club number “Fun Girl” by Jessica 6 (then Deep Red), a new band fronted by former Hercules & Love Affair vocalist Nomi Ruiz. Twelve months later the track finally has a music video directed by New York Times “Artist to Watch” Bijoux Altamirano.

In “What You Do Will Come Back To You”, dark disco outfit Lioness take a trip down the River Styx into a fantasy hell populated by skull-faced bikers and voodoo voguers. (“Voodoo voguers” is always a good term to include in your press release FYI.)

We totally slept on this crafty and clever Sia video so feel free to watch it again if you’ve seen it already. Yes, IT’S THAT GOOD.

LOVE Lioness… I was about to be all “how the hell do you guys know about them?” but then I realized you’re Canadian

Don’t Give Up: The vocals are far inferior to the original but it’s not a travesty. I can see why they didn’t release it, though. It’s kinda blah. (@Composerv: I like Willie’s vocal, but always thought Sinead’s was rather weak – which is too bad because I like them both and Across The Borderline is one of my favorite albums).

Nothing wrong with this song. They didn’t do much with it. Glad I saw it, but if you’re going to cover something, add something to it.

I think this version is better than the original, but not as good as the Willie Nelson/Sinead O’Connor version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgy1VGA2BE8
